Each piece is high fired at temperatures between 990-1000 degrees centigrade to ensure frost resistance and durability. For quality control, these natural clay products are rigorously tested in freeze-thaw conditions. The artisanal process and traditional kilns used to manufacture Campania terra cotta create planters and garden accents of unique beauty and character. Available in both traditional terra cotta and terra cotta antico, a buff/brown clay with a soft weathered antique patina. Offered in an extensive range of styles and sizes, Campania’s terra cotta planters are appropriate for use indoors and outdoors. Color is applied to Campania’s cold painted planters after they are fired. As such, the color is not integral to the piece as in a fully glazed planter. To maintain the integrity of the planter and prevent peeling/fading of the surface color, we recommend that cold painted planters be used indoors only.
